~ Artist Statement ~

Growing up, I moved from Alaska to Spain to Connecticut to New York City. In each place, little things were so polarizingly different. Yet, when it came to defining the big, core things which truly mean something - those remain much the same no matter how far one reaches to find it.

I try to find the patterns that run through all cultures, all people - the root elements that make us human - the structure that is not manmade at all but instead created by nature, natural.

In my imagery, I borrow what I can from the heart and soul threading through languages in hopes to not mirror what makes us different but in order to communicate because somewhere deep down we similar.
